2014 has definitely been the most action packed year of my life! I think I can write a book of everything what has happened in 2014. This past weekend was the final round of the karting championship. This was my first year in the 125cc Clubmans class after winning the 100cc Powerstock class last year. Before Saturday I was lying 2nd on the points standing for the year thanks to a successful previous round, and was now in a position that I could actually win the season overall. Half way through the year I didn't believe that I could win, but Jethro convinced me that it's still possible. I really wanted to give it a shot (by competing in this event) even though I felt really guilty to leave Claudette at home to look after baby while I was having fun. Nevertheless Claudette said I could go.

I managed to qualify on pole position out of 16 karts which was a good start to the day.

Heat 1, I managed to lead from start to finish. Heat 2, I started first but dropped to second on the first corner. I then managed to get to the front again a few laps later and managed to win again. The competitor that I needed to beat, struggled in the first 2 heats which meant I basically just needed to finish the final heat in order to win for the year.

I was again overtaken on the first corner of the final heat. On lap 2 I was hit from behind and spun around. It took about half a minute to get the engine started again and by that time the race was lost. I pushed as hard as I could and managed to make up a few positions by the end of the race.

At the end of the day it was still enough for 1st on the day and also to win the overall championship for 2014. This race was for Connor, and the emotions came out afterwards when thinking how the man above has looked after me this year! What a proud moment.
