Claudette and I are now very proud parents. What an experience. Connor Ryan Schwartz was born on Thursday 30 October at 12.05pm. He weighed 3.66kg, and was 51cm long at birth.

All went very well.

We feel really blessed to have this little guy. The birth procedure went very fast! From the time Claudette had the anesthetic, it was about 5 minutes until he was out. They told me to get the camera ready and out he came. The quickly wrapped him up, weighed him and cleaned him. The doctor told Claudette to raise him rough so that one day he could play rugby for the Blue Bulls. The nurse and I took him to the nursery for further tests while Claudette was stitched up. A while later Claudette was wheeled back to her room and we had our first family photo. Our lives had now been changed forever. Sunday Claudette was discharged from hospital.

The first 3 nights back home were a little crazy but it has since gone much better. He is generally very good and doesn't cry much. He sure does know how to eat!

The dogs have also been very good and have accepted him. They sit and watch him and aren't too bothered. Claudette is doing a great job with him. You can see how much he loves her.
